Ages and Stages

We all have those precious memories of times in our lives that we often go back to. Those times that bring about a special happiness because we are reliving a time in our lives when nothing else seems to matter or interfere.  I personally take myself back to childhood days when I used to go with my pa to visit my grand dad at the grain elevator.  I reminisce today about the sights and sounds of the country life.  I enjoyed life back then as a small child.  I hear the sound of the grain dryers and the grain switching from one silo to the next.  As I go back to those days, I remember the vintage pop machine that was just inside the office, grand dad used to always buy me a coke when we would visit.  As I think about the new Coca-Cola Life, I am taken back to those days. Days when you could buy a glass bottle from a soda machine.  Recently I received a bottle of Coca-Cola Life free to provide a review, giving my honest opinion of the product.  What a more appropriate name for the new Coca-Cola Life.  Coca-Cola Life has the deliciously sweet taste that will help us to create a lifetime of memories.  It is made with a combination of cane sugar and stevia leaf extract, Coca-Cola Life will take you back.  Make sure to take a stroll down memory lane when you visit the soda aisle at your grocery store.  You will understand why they call in Coca-Cola Life.

Luscious Lemon Pudding Tart

I have always had a huge love for lemon and sweets.  Since I started Trim Healthy Mama, I have hesitated to eat a lot of dessert type foods because I know that eating sweets was something that I always enjoyed.  I, however, have been craving something with lemon as of late.  I searched and searched trying to find something that already existed, but nothing seemed just what I was looking for.  I ran ran across a recipe for a lemon poppy seed muffin by  Rohnda Sue  that gave me great inspiration.  I experimented with different sugar types and flour ratios hoping to come up with a bit of a dryer crumbly crust, similar to a graham cracker to no avail, then one particular time, this happened.  I believe this is due in part to the Xylitol, because other times this worked out just fine like a muffin should. The centers of the muffin sunk and I had a light bulb moment. The birth of the lemon tart, verified by Trim Healthy Mama trained folks as a H...

Yummy Pumpkin Whip

What does one trying to pick themselves up after falling off the wagon.  Off the Trim Healthy Mama wagon.  The wagon, where you eliminate sugar from your life.  A 43 year life of sugar addiction makes it impossible for allot of people to just give it up.  Even more difficult, is how does one satisfy the crazy, overtaking desire for sweetness?  Very carefully and planned out very strategically.  I know no other way.   So last night, I had that crazy "I am going to cave into the Pumpkin Pie Ice Cream if I don't find something sweet quick", desire for sweetness. So I whipped up some of this yummy pumpkin whip.  Did it work?  Certainly so.  I ate it and quickly went to bed. I know we have all been there so I decided to share my pumpkin concoction with you.  I hope that you enjoy.  Let me know if you try it and if you tweak it, please share your tweaks in the comments of my blog below. Heavenly Ham Casserole

I have been missing this amazing old family recipe; that has passed down through the generations, often taken to family reunions, holiday gatherings or other carry-ins.  Since I have been following Trim Healthy Mama, the  original recipe as it is written, doesn’t fit into the guidelines as a legal  dish to prepare and eat.   Recently, I was pondering how I could adapt the old favorite recipe to the Trim Healthy Mama lifestyle I have been following.  I have been messing with this in the kitchen for a while, I think I have finally come up with something that will work, so I decided to share it here.  The original recipe was made with potatoes.  We all know that potatoes are a Trim Healthy Mama “no-no.”  The adapted recipe below, is the closest thing to the original recipe I have found.  This would definitely be considered an "S" Dish. I hope that you will all try it and that you all en...
